Very cool memorial and a nice hike as well.
Nice little 10-20 minute walk to the top of Wrigley Memorial. Entrance fee free for Veterans.
If you want to visit you have a few options- it’s about a 30 minute walk from the town center, we took the bus- which is $2 per person each way, you can also bike or take a golf cart here. You do have to pay an entrance free of $10 per person since it’s located inside of the botanical garden.
This memorial honors, yes- the creator of Wrigley gum- he played an instrumental role in Catalina Island’s history and helped with many improvements for the inhabitants of this island.
Fun fact: This building used as many materials from Catalina island as possible.
I absolutely loved Wrigley's mansion it was truly amazing the detailed work and craftsmanship and detail that went into building this was truly amazing. Makes you wonder why we don't have anything built today that comes close to this. I highly recommend it was my favorite thing to do on the island the different variety of trees that Wrigley had imported were awesome. I love the dragon Tree along with all the others. True beauty you must see if on Catalina Island love love it.
A nice, easy walk, through a winding path of botanical gardens leading to the memorial itself. Cool architecture, well maintained, pleasant and quiet. You might spot an Island Fox, sunning next to a bridge, be sure not to feed or disturb him.
Walked to this location in the botanical gardens from the port in Avalon. Interesting design and a good view from the top. Not really a difficult walk up. The memorial itself is just big.
